Abstract

With the rapid development of electronic information technology, it has brought efficiency and convenience to people's lives. However, the adverse electromagnetic waves generated do harm to the environment and human health. Therefore, composite EMI shielding materials have become a hot issue of general concern. This review introduces the effects of different fillers and forms on the properties of EMI shielding materials, including metal-based fillers, carbon-based fillers, MXene-based fillers and MOF-based fillers, as well as the EMI shielding properties and comprehensive properties of these four fillers when they are prepared into three forms of foam, film and fabric respectively. In addition, we also focus on the functional characteristics of EMI shielding materials, which are antibacterial, flame retardant, self-healing and superhydrophobic. Compared with traditional EMI shielding materials, they not only have excellent EMI shielding performance but also have special functionality to resist external adverse factors, extend service life and improve durability. Based on our comprehensive consideration, the main challenges and prospects of composite EMI shielding materials in future research are put forward.
