Abstract

Early postoperative ambulation is one of the three key techniques of fast track surgery, which can not only promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function but also can reduce pulmonary complications and improve patients′ self healing ability. The concept of early postoperative ambulation was summarized in this review and the main factors that can affect the early postoperative ambulation were analyzed from the view of medical staff and patients, which provide basis for further implementation of early postoperative ambulation.
