Abstract

Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease that is characterized by the formation of non-caseating granulomas, the clinical manifestation is lack of specificity and the misdiagnosis rate is high.The diagnosis should be confirmed through a combination of the history, symptoms, imaging and pathological findings, with other granulomatous diseases excluded.In recent years, with the progress of imaging technology and pathology of the disease, the diagnosis of sarcoidosis has a new understanding.Here we review literatures about the progress of the diagnosis of sarcoidosis in terms of epidemiological characteristics, clinical manifestations, imaging findings and pathological evidence to improve the understanding of the disease, which may be useful for clinicians who face the diagnostic dilemmas.
