Abstract

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has made great progress in clinical practice due to its high selectivity and low side effects. However, there is still a lot of work to do to improve PDT in its penetrability to tumor tissue, selectivity, stimulating methods and promote its ability to overcome tumor hypoxia microenvironment. Many researches have boosted the development of PDT. In this study, the latest progress of enhanced PDT both at home and abroad was reviewed, including photosensitizer, stimulating methods and combination therapy, so as to provide insights for further research in PDT in the future.
