Abstract

Instability of the electrode/electrolyte interface is the bottleneck in the development of high-voltage lithium ion battery. The improvement in the interface stability is necessary for the commercialization of high-voltage lithium ion battery. The progress in the experimental and theoretical investigations on oxidative decomposition mechanism of electrolytes based on carbonates, new electrolytes and new film-forming additives for high voltage lithium ion battery is reviewed in this paper.
