Abstract

The main purpose of the present study is to identify the essential factors for doing research. Present study performed on 385 students of various universities in Jaipur, India. The study period was January 2018 to April 2018. A questionnaire of 17 questions was filled by all respondents enthusiastically. Responses were collected on five-point Likert scale. The representative sample includes 56.4% male and 43.6% female students. Among these 52.2% engineering and 47.8% management undergraduates. Third year students comprised the highest number of participants in the study. Forty eight percent respondents participated in research activities while rest not. The sampling adequacy and reliability of the questionnaire was checked by KMO test and Cronbach’s Alpha. The study find the three factors by performing factor analysis with principal component method. The limitation of the study is that comparison is made among the students from universities of same region.
