Abstract

With the continuous expansion of power grid scale, oil-immersed transformer as the key electrical equipment of power grid, its safe and economical operation is very important. When the transformer is operating under different working conditions, it is inevitable that the hot spot temperature is too high. Reasonable cooling control strategy is the guarantee of safe and stable operation of the transformer. The hot spot temperature of transformer is closely related to the load capacity and aging speed. The hot spot temperature is an important factor to formulate the cooling control strategy. In this paper, a 220kV/180MVA oil-immersed transformer is taken as an example to calculate its hot spot temperature under different operating conditions. Based on the hot spot temperature, the cooling control strategy of transformer is studied by integrating multiple information, which provides a strong guarantee for safe and economic operation of transformer.
