Abstract

Because of its simple structure, linear induction motor(LIM) is widely used in rail transit, precise positioning, and electromagnetic emission. Due to the dynamic longitudinal end effect, the distribution of the magnetic field is distorted. As a result, the axial thrust of the motor fluctuates twice the power supply frequency. In this paper, taking pulse-driven high-speed linear induction motor as an example, the thrust performance under the influence of end effect is analyzed, whether under the excitation of a voltage source or current source. Combined with the characteristics of motor aperiodic transient motion, the influence of variable parameters on thrust ripple coefficient is analyzed. It is revealed that the thrust ripple of aperiodic transient LIM presents unsteady characteristics, which is different from that of traditional LIM.
