Abstract
The typical safety accidents have been witnessed through many of storage tanks located in the port area such as leakage, proliferation, fire and even explosions, all of which share some common features of high risks, limited resolutions and fantastic speed of spreading, threatening the safety of personnel and property. Those accidents, once happened, usually lead to severe damages due to its scale of diffusion and related issues with multitude of dimensions. Compared with the traditional experimental research which is difficult and expensive, the computer simulation, with its characteristics of safety, high efficiency and low cost, has developed into an important means for conducting accident safety research. Through investigation of the storage tanks located at one chosen area, this paper proposed an overall process of three-dimensional simulation of typical safety accidents happen to storage tanks in the port area, discussed the mathematical model targeting the calculation and analysis of those accidents. Also, the paper proposed an accident simulation method and rendering method based on three-dimensional particle system. In addition to these, it is worth mentioning that this paper developed a three-dimensional simulation system for storage tank accidents in the port area based on the calculation results, which realized the quantitative simulation of such accidents, providing an immersive and visual means for the analysis of storage tank accidents in the port area.
