Abstract

In recent years, the study of benzoxazine based composites has become a research hotspot. In this paper, a set of the shell powder-filled polybenzoxazine composites were prepared. The curing behavior and thermal properties of the corresponding composites were studied by differential scanning calorimeter, dynamic mechanical analyzer and thermogravimetric analysis. The results revealed that the glass transition temperature of the composite improved 22 °C with the shell powder content added to 30%. Besides, the 5% decomposition temperatures of all the resulted composites were higher than 390 °C, which indicated that the addition of shell powder improved the thermal stability of benzoxazine resin.
