Abstract

AbstractAn automotive dynamic model of the body-seat-occupant 4-DOF 1/4 body was created based on the study on the 1/2 fuzzy-controlled vehicle body of a semi-active suspension with the consideration of certain factors, such as the engine and passenger-seat system. A parameters self-tuning fuzzy PID controller for the semi-active hydraulic suspension of the 1/4 body was designed, and the relative simulation was performed using the MATLAB/Simulink software. The results are as follows: (1) the excitation of a high-frequency constant engine has insignificant impact on the acceleration of the vehicle seats; and (2) the fuzzy PID controller is more self-adaptable than the fuzzy controller, thus improving the ride comfort of the vehicle.
