Abstract

12 thyristors are paralleled to compose the bridge arm of international thermonuclear experimental reactor (ITER) poloidal field (PF) converter. In order to confirm the dynamic current sharing performance of ITER PF converter, the dynamic current sharing test is essential. This paper mainly presents analysis of test current, design of test method, simulation and test verification, and test data processing. The current for dynamic current sharing test is achieved by the short current of downstream DC reactor which is analyzed based on the actual ITER PF converter system. Then, the test method is designed based on the AC test platform in institute of plasma physics, Chinese academy of science (ASIPP). The feasibility and rationality of the designed test method are proved by simulation result and test result respectively. The contents presented in this paper can be available for the dynamic current sharing test of such large and special converter.
