Abstract

In order to research the stress distribution of the soft soil foundation such as coastal area and beaches and so on which is covered by thin artificial hard shell layer in soft soil area, we use the numerical analysis method to research the law of the additional stress factor and the lateral stress coefficient under the influence of thickness and modulus ratio of artificial hard shell layer. The results show that the vertical addition tress decrease gradually while the lateral stress coefficient is growing rapidly with the increase of thickness and modulus ratio of artificial hard shell layer. We can make a conclusion, by researching additional stress coefficient and lateral stress coefficient of the soft soil foundation covered thin artificial hard shell layer, it lays the foundation for the application of thin overlying artificial hard shell layer in the coastal soft soil area under low level load.
