Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the sound effects of the PILI puppet show and summarize the characteristics of martial arts. In this paper, we take PILI Bing Feng Jue: Battle Torches-Match Point Chapter 25, Scene 3 Tan, Wu-Yu's exit martial arts as an example, conduct a case study of the sound effects of this scene, and analyze the sound effects. Then conduct expert interviews with experts in the company's sound team, such as mixing and sound effects, and verify the conclusions of both parties to find out the characteristics and rules of the relationship between the image and the sound, and the sound effects. According to research results, it is found that sound of a cloth is used the most in terms of sound effect tone and usage count, followed by swoosh weapon, and simple delay is ranked third in usage count. The result shows that the sound effect is mainly cloth sound, combined with the body bump, which is the fourth most used, to express “Kung Fu.” Swoosh weapon, matched with metal attack, also favors the sound of metal texture. The content of this martial arts uses a variety of “sword” cold weapons. Simple delay is used for the effect sound produced by key character actions or object movements that need to be emphasized in the plot to express “Qigong.” The focus of this martial arts show is Tai Chi Xuan. The three elements of “Qigong,” “Sword,” and “Kung Fu” are the characteristics of the sound effects of the play. It is hoped that through this research, practitioners will be able to more accurately grasp the key points of PILI puppet show sound effects, save costs, and have broader development in the future.
