Abstract

The evolution of 5G technology and standards promotes its service bearing in power grid and other industries areas. As one of the important technologies in industrial 5G applications, multi-access edge computing (MEC) provides differentiated, distributed and customized functions for power grid, which gives high-performance network and computing ability to the industry. In order to promote the development of smart grid based on the integration of 5G and MEC, it is necessary to clarify the 5G MEC service requirements of the power grid and carry out research on its deployment strategy. This paper analyzed the demand of power service for 5G MEC integration. Combined with the power network architecture, this paper studied the deployment strategies of MEC on the base station side, regional side and convergence side of power wireless system, which is of great significance for the integrated development of 5G and power industry and improving power security level and service performance.
