Abstract

The purpose of this study is to bring Projection Mapping into the restaurant service to change the traditional monotonous restaurant service. The use of Projection Mapping makes each process full of surprises, adding to the dining atmosphere. During the early stage of the research, first, we collected data by Document Analysis and organized Projection Mapping cases, and conducted expert interviews as research, and finally, we presented the creation with store cases. In the creation of the projection, the author used the projection of the service in the case of meals, changing the traditional way of the staff introducing the menu, and using the projection of the whole space and the table projection to convey the content, so that customers can immerse themselves in the dining environment. The Projection Mapping sets up a projector device, “Lightform”, and uses a “LFC” device to scan the scene and project the tables and environment in alignment and connects to the desktop software “Lightform Creator” to create the images. The technology of Projection Mapping makes dining more interesting than a single purpose, enhances the sense of anticipation of dining and improves the service quality of the restaurant, and achieves a new media art experience at the same time. As the form of art is not limited, this study also hopes to serve as a reference for the future use of Projection Mapping in the restaurant industry for commercial purposes.
