Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between the change of human serum Irisin & secretory curl related protein 5 (SFRP5) and type II diabetic patients with obesity. Methods Total of 38 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity who were treated in the Endocrinology Department of Xiaogan Central Hospital were selected as the observation group, and 44 healthy people in the same period were selected as the control group from July 2017 to October 2018.The body mass index (BMI), fasting plasma glucose (FBG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) andserum Irisin and SFRP5 level were compared between the two groups. The correlation between the related indexes and serum irisin, Sfrp5 levels has also been analyzed. Results The levels of BMI, FPG and HbA1c in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (t values were 28.71, 16.74 and 13.87 respectively, all P values < 0.05), and HDL-C were significantly lower than those in the control group (t= 4.640, P<0.05). The serum irisin and Sfrp5 levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (t values were 15.80 and 7.152 respectively, both P values<0.05). The BMI, FPG and HbA1c of the patients were significantly negatively correlated with the serum irisin level in the observation group (r values were -0.803, -0.336 and-0.644 respectively, all P values <0.05), and a significant positive correlation between HDL-C and serum irisin has also been found in the group(r= 0.845, P<0.05). The BMI, FPG, HbA1c and serum Sfrp5 levels were significantly negatively correlated in the observation group (r values were -0.745, -0.627 and -0.614 respectively, all P values<0.05), and a significant positive correlation between HDL-C and Sfrp 5 has been found in the group (r= 0.711, P<0.05). Conclusion The lower the level of serum irisin and Sfrp5, the more serious the condition of type 2 diabetes patients with obesity, so it has important clinical significance for the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes patients with obesity. Key words: Irisin; Secretory curl related protein 5; Type 2 diabetes mellitus with Obesity; Serum
