Abstract

TIG welding tests were carried out on high nitrogen nickel-free austenitic stainless steel by solid solution treatment, with three kinds of self-developed high nitrogen alloyed flux cored wires obtained. The results show the microstructure of the welded joints is austenite in dendritic crystalwith strong corrosive resistance. The grains in HAZ zone hardly grew, and the bonding were perfect between weld and base metal. Furthermore, no obvious nitrogen pores are found in welds and fusion zone. Connector Rm of Mo–N Wire and Mo–Nb–N flux cored wire is higher than the base metal to 983 MPa.
