Abstract

Magneto-optical (MO) glass, which is doped with Dy3+ based on Tb2O3– B2O3-GeO2-PbO-SiO2(TBGPS), was prepared via high temperature melting method, and its physical properties, magneto-optical properties, luminescence properties and structural characteristics was discussed. The experimental results are as follows: Dy3+ co-doped TBGPS glass has excellent physical properties, but its luminous intensity decreases significantly as the concentration of Dy3+ increases. Besides, the Verdet value of TBGPS magneto-optical glass reaches a higher value at different incident light wavelengths. It's worth noting that when Dy3+ doping concentration of 8 mol%, it is −162.90 rad/(T·m) at 633 nm.
