Abstract

The brake performance parameters of vehicles are important indicators that can most truly reflect the brake conditions of vehicles on the road. Aiming at the problems in the traditional parameters measurement of vehicle brake performance, which is only able to measure the brake performance parameters of whole vehicle, unable to obtain the brake performance parameters of four wheels, unable to completely evaluate the vehicle brake performance, and unable to detect brake signals of stability, brake pedal force, etc. in particular, this paper proposes a new technology to obtain vehicle brake performance information. Through the installation of intelligent sensor units on the vehicle body and wheels to obtain their three-dimensional acceleration and sampling timestamp information and detect brake signal, so as to establish a calculation model to acquire the vehicle brake performance parameters. The experimental results indicate that under experimental conditions, the measurement of front wheel brake deceleration (ɛwb,ɛwl) is (12.69rad/s2,12.52rad/s2), and the imbalancerate of the imbalancedegree of front axle brake deceleration, Δɛwr, is 1.3%. This novel technology is able to measure the brake performance parameters rapidly, dynamically, and accurately in the process of driving a vehicle. In addition, the performance indicators can achieve better measurement accuracy and achieve expected effects.
