Abstract

Village folk-custom tourism businesses, whose units are single families, are often smaller scale. This scattered distributed characteristic requires a suitable e-commerce platform to display tourism resources and promote the information exchange between tourists and businesses. However, current multimedia technologies in the development of folkcustom tourism e-commerce system do not directly integrate the heterogeneous and isomerism resource such as geospatial information. It impedes the exhibition of primitive folk custom culture. Towards the goal of exhibition of primitive folk custom culture, an implementation method of integrating folk-custom tourism e-commerce multi-source heterogeneous and isomerism resources for displaying, which is called the Resource Mashup and Display technology (RMD), is presented as a key technology for the proposed scheme. This technology integrates WebGIS, multimedia, Web-3D and virtual reality panorama technologies, and achieves the integrated display for the multi-source heterogeneous and isomerism resources. First of all, using the geospatial information as an integrating link of resources, RMD add geospatial attribute to URI (Universal Resource Identifier) of resources. It realizes spatialization processing for non-geospatial resources. Secondly, by calling the resources via Web API, RMD achieves the 2D/3D Web e-map as the carrier, which combines the graphics, video, audio, virtual reality panoramas and other multi-source heterogeneous and isomerism resources with electronic map on WWW. It provides users a multi-display-mode. Thirdly, for different users' requirements, RMD offers multi-terminal access mode (such as PC, mobile phone, PDA and so on) for users to access via WWW. This paper describes the implementation of RMD and explores the development of village folk-custom tourism e-commerce. This technology enriches the display means of folk-custom tourism ecommerce, and satisfies the information exchange requirement among the folk-custom tourism enthusiasts, villages and towns folk-custom tourism business and tourism management department.
