Abstract

A vehicle walking dynamics model considering tire elasticity was established to study the mechanism of vehicle shift quality affected by tire elasticity. The model was applied to shift process analysis and the motion equation of shift process was derived. A simulation model is established by Amesim based on the dynamic model. The shift process of a typical loader was calculated and the calculation results were compared between with and without the consideration of tire elasticity in aspects of vehicle acceleration, instantaneous impact, input and output speed of the gearbox, characteristics of clutch slipping. The results show that during the shift process the tire elasticity makes acceleration changes smoothly; the oncoming clutch has two sliding processes, smaller impact and longer shift time; the impact of oncoming clutch is related to the time it engaged; less total sliding friction work. The conclusion will provide important references for the improvement of shift quality.
