Research on the In-Vehicle ITS Technology on Improving Road Safety in China

Abstract

With the development of economy, the quantity of the motor vehicles in China has had a rapid growth, and also, the vehicle’s intelligent level is on a rise , more and more ITS technologies have been applied in more and more vehicles. This paper analyzes the advantages of ITS on improving road safety, proposes a classification about the in-vehicle ITS technologies which could improve road safety, concludes the status quo and prospects for application of the in-vehicle ITS technologies on road safety in China, and finally, discusses the potential influencing factors on their in large scale application in China.
