Abstract

In order to explore the factors influencing the cocoon effect of user information on short video platforms under personalized recommendation algorithm, and prevent the occurrence of user information narrowing and addictive behavior. From the perspective of information ecology, according to the short video platform information delivery process, constructed a short video user information cocoon effect influencing factor model. The model has studied the impact of the personalized recommendation on information cocoon through information filtering, information homogeneity, flow experience, value identification, and users' information interest. Based on this, the questionnaire was designed, and the research model was verified by empirical research. Research results show that personalized recommendations generally make users form an information cocoon effect. The user's information cocoon effect is positively affected by value recognition, flow experience, and information interest. The personalized recommendation has a strong positive effect on users' flow experience and information interest through information filtering and information homogeneity. It has reference significance for algorithm optimization of short video platform, reducing information cocoon effect and improving user experience.
