Abstract

Corresponding to the development of internet technology, the activities in the elderly are facilities are easily published and noticed by the elder residents' relatives. In this way, the families of the elderly are able to understand the elder residents' lives in the elderly care facility and increase their satisfaction thereby. Moreover, as a propaganda, these campaigns facilitate and improve satisfaction of the elderly relatives based on various internet applications and social media platforms. As a case study, we collected relevant data from the elderly care facility- the Hongjing Home, where is the first elderly care facility illustrates a model of public-private partnership in Putian, China. They mainly share videos and photos of the seniors participating in the activities on moment, WeChat, by way of letting the families see that the seniors are participating in the activities. Hence, it is worth exploring the way to meliorate satisfaction from the old people's relatives to the elderly care facility through integrating reminiscence group service and internet application. In the study, the authors conduct questionnaire survey to the old people's relatives regarding their satisfaction to the elder care facility. We found internet application is a proper strategy to improve satisfaction from residents' relatives to the elderly care facility. It is apparent improvement of satisfaction of elderly relatives through using WeChat. On the one hand, the elderly relatives can receive the latest information about the elderly; on the other hand, residents' relatives could feel respects because they regularly received notices from online platform with internet technology. In conclusion, internet application is beneficial to improve satisfaction of elderly relatives to the elderly care facility. This practice to serve families through the Internet can be a reference for major nursing homes to improve satisfaction of elderly relatives in the future.
