Abstract
Longxi County in Gansu province is a representative region of eco-frangibility in loess plateau. It is of significance to study the effect of land use change on ecosystem service values. This paper aimed to provide decision support for sustainable use of resources and protection of eco-environment by assessing land use change and its consequent changes in ecosystem service values of Longxi County. We obtained land use data by interpreting remote sensing images. Based on dynamic data of land use in Longxi County, this paper analyzed changes in land use and ecosystem service values using the ecosystem service value coefficients put forward by Costanza et al. In addition, coefficients of sensitivity were introduced to test the rationality of ecological value coefficients. Results show that from 1980 to 200(), area of forestland, grassland and construction land decreased and area of hilly dry land and plain dry land increase. In generally, value-to-service of ecosystem in Longxi County reduced from 1980 to 2000. The total slip in the past 20 years is 0.237% and the annual slip is 0.012% Value-to-service of ecosystem in Longxi County form 1980 to 19955 increases, but the increasing extent is not prominent.
