Abstract

Panel threshold regression model is a multi-interval regression test model constructed for the study of nonlinear relationships, characterized by automatically searching for one or more catastrophe points of research variables based on the sample data of the model. Thus, by using panel threshold regression model, this paper conducts an analysis on the optimal interval of the proportion of female executives promoting the corporate business performance. The study in this paper finds that the proportion of female executives has a significant threshold effect on the business performance. It has a significant positive effect on the business performance during the 11.7%-39.8% interval. The estimated results of three main industries indicate that there are obvious differences in the threshold effects of the proportion of female executives in different industries, which exerts positive effects on clarifying the status and importance of female executives in corporate governance as well as eliminating social gender differences in industrial structure.
