Abstract
New energy is connected to the power grid on a large scale, which brings some new features. Energy storage plays an important role in supporting power system and promoting utilization of new energy. Firstly, it analyzes the function of energy storage from the perspectives of the power generation side, power grid side and user side, and expounds on the development of electrochemical energy storage. Secondly, it sorts out the relevant policies and technical standards. It points out the main technical challenges in development and application of electrochemical energy storage. Finally it gives suggestions on the development direction.
