Abstract

Based on the enterprise data of the second national economic census of China in 2008, this paper analyzes the spatial synergy between the five producer services and three manufacturing industries in Jiangxi Province by using the methods of nuclear density and geographic detector from the perspective of spatial similarity. Based on the county scale, this paper discusses the co-agglomeration of producer services and manufacturing industries in Jiangxi Province from the industry level. There is a certain spatial similarity between the spatial layout of producer services and manufacturing industries in Jiangxi Province from the perspective of spatial layout of industrial agglomeration centers. The region with the highest spatial similarity between producer services and manufacturing industries is concentrated in Nanchang, and the spatial similarity between producer services and manufacturing industries in Jingdezhen, Xinyu, Shangrao, Jiujiang, Yingtan, Yichun, Ji’an, Ganzhou, Pingxiang and Fuzhou is low. On the whole, Jiangxi's transportation, warehousing and postal industries are highly similar to manufacturing industries, and the financial industries are similar to capital-intensive and labor-intensive manufacturing industries. The layout of information transmission, computer service and software industries and leasing and business services has high spatial similarity with the layout of capital and technology-intensive manufacturing industries. Differences in government planning and the flexibility of enterprise layout are important factors which affect the spatial similarity between producer services and manufacturing industries.
