Abstract

Since 2012, the influence of network animation drama in China"s network audiovisual field has become increasingly evident, such as the third season of the network animation drama One Hundred Thousand Bad Jokes on the iQIYI site, for which the volume of single-set clicks exceeded 400 million, and from which two animated films have been released. In addition, animations such as Fights Break Firmament, HuaJiangHu, The Legend of Qin, and others in 2019 have once again attracted the interest of the audience. The cultural phenomenon in which network animation drama continues to prosper is worthy of an in-depth study of its characteristics. Through research, it is found that the audience of Chinese network animation drama are mainly adults, narrative features have anti-intellectual tendencies, aesthetic styles are exaggerated, communication channels are interactive, and profitability is mainly based on advertising revenue.
