Abstract
Objective To explore the teaching model of cross-cultural nursing curriculum for nursing specialty in higher vocational education. Methods Using the convenience sampling method, all students in 2 classes of nursing specialty were selected in 2014, 97 students in class 1 as experimental group, 99 students in class 2 as control group. The control group was given the traditional teaching model focused on expository method, on the basis of traditional teaching the experimental group was given the interactive teaching method, case teaching, bilingual teaching, fostering the concept of multi-culture nursing. Results The cross-cultural nursing theory test result in the experimental group was (92.14±3.10), and that in the control group was (87.42±5.49), the score in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group (t=7.39, P<0.01). 94% of the students thought that the reformed cross-cultural nursing curriculum cultivated a multicultural awareness, 95% of the students thought that it enhanced teamwork, 93% of students thought that it strengthened communication skills. Conclusion Cross-cultural nursing teaching mode promotes the innovation of education, further improve the quality of the talent cultivation of cross-cultural nursing.
