Abstract

Particle Impact Noise Detection (PIND) is an important method for detecting remainders within space relays. During the PIND process of sealed relays, the movement of remainders often cannot be observed directly. A new method to analyze the movement of remainders based on high-speed video technology is therefore proposed in this paper. The PIND process in special transparent cavities is studied, and the parameters to describe the kinetic movements of remainders are calculated based on image processing and data analysis. Then the PIND test conditions are explored with this method. Experimental results show that this method can capture the motion state of remainders in real time and calculate the remainder motion parameters effectively. This method offers an intuitive and reliable means of verifying the PIND test conditions.
