Abstract

With the rapid development of industrial technology, frequency converters are used in various fields of industry, and the output end of the inverter and the motor end are connected by long cables. Since the characteristic impedance of the long cable does not match the characteristic impedance of the inverter and the motor, the Overvoltage is generated at the motor end, if not dealt with in time, the inverter and the motor will be damaged. In response to this problem, this paper deeply analyzes the mechanism of overvoltage at the motor end, and proposes a new overvoltage protection circuit RLC-pluse-RLC to solve this problem. By establishing a new filter circuit mathematical model and Matlab/simulink software simulation model, To verify the advantages of the new filter circuit over the existing filter circuit, the simulation and comparative analysis results show that the new filter circuit effectively suppresses the overvoltage at the motor terminal and ensures the stable and safe operation of the system.
