Abstract

AbstractSupply-and-demand dynamic equilibrium is a strategic goal in urban road network planning and construction. The supply of road network capacities of links, intersections and roads, and the traffic demand calculation are analyzed in the paper. Based on graph theory, the authors put forward a cross section method for supply-and-demand equilibrium analysis in urban road network and the principles and calculation process. Application of the method to Harbin urban road network was presented and based on the study on saturation of 58412 cross sections, suggestions for improvement are proposed. The results shows that method based on cross section can be used to analyze the supply-and-demand equilibrium and the results are consistent with the practical traffic status.
