Abstract

Objective: To provide a metrological algorithm for CNC machining of mechanical molds with non-circular curve profiles to provide guidance for machining of machine molds. Methods: Cubic spline interpolation algorithm. Process: Based on the review of the current situation of mechanical mold smoothness and the cubic spline interpolation algorithm, the smoothness interpolation model of non-circular curve mechanical mold is constructed, and the three-diagonal system is solved by catch-up method. Conclusion: Simulation and experimental results show that the cubic spline interpolation algorithm is suitable for the problem of mold smoothness interpolation. The results show that the algorithm has the advantages of small error and high smoothness, and improves the quality and efficiency of non-circular curve mechanical mold.
