Abstract

This study examines the dynamic performance of Yellow River Extra-large Bridge within Baotou to Shulin Ju Expressway, with measured seismic response spectrum and designed earthquake response spectra as well as dynamic time history analysis, to provide a basis for seismic design. This bridge is located at the strong earthquake zone with basic earthquake intensity of VIII degree, which has characteristics such as low pier, long span. Taking the approach spans of this bridge over the South Levee for example, research on dynamic performance of joint three-span (40m +70 m +40 m) girders for continuous prestressed concrete bridge with non-prismatic cross-section was made by using the Midas/Civil2012 finite element program to create a three-dimensional space simulation model, according to the Guidelines for Seismic Design of Highway Bridge (JTG/TB02-01-2008).
