Abstract

The sag stability of high-density drilling fluid has a very important influence on the performance of drilling fluid, drilling operation, and well control safety. In this paper, the static sag stability and dynamic sag stability of the high-density drilling fluid of this system are evaluated and applied in the Missan oilfield. Experiments show that the drilling fluid system can fully meet the drilling requirements. Furthermore, the different particle coordination of barite can enhance the sag stability of drilling fluid.
