Abstract

Xu, X.; Yang, Z.; Jin, L., and Hao, L., 2020. Research on risk assessment of port project investment and construction. In: Bai, X. and Zhou, H. (eds.), Advances in Water Resources, Environmental Protection, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 115, pp. 187-189. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.Compared with general engineering projects, port engineering projects have large investment scale, long cycle, uncertain natural environment in which the port is located, and diversified potential influencing factors, which are all sources of risk for port engineering projects. With the increasing trend of economic globalization and integration, ports are playing an increasingly important role in stimulating regional economy and local economy. However, because port construction is a capital-intensive industry with a long payback period, investment in port projects has to bear greater risks. The construction and operation of port projects often have a significant impact on the local economic and social system and the existing space and natural environment. Based on the introduction of the characteristics and causes of the investment risks of port construction projects, this paper analyzes the potential risk factors of port construction project investment in China, and gives suggestions for the risk evaluation of port construction project investment combined with the characteristics of the investment risks of port construction projects.
