Abstract

This paper first presents a RFID-based mobile logistics monitoring system framework composed of mobile front-end application sub-system and back-end monitoring and service sub-system. The system architecture is designed, and the operating principle is described. The architectures and functions of the front-end application software and back-end monitoring software are discussed in detail. In practical mobile logistics management, it is common that the goods packages are grouped and the tags attached to the same group of packages are numbered continuously. Aiming at such applications, the group-based polling anti-collision algorithm for RFID tag identification is proposed. The results of theoretical analysis and comparative simulation experiments show that the performance of the algorithm proposed has advantages over typical dynamic frame slot ALOHA algorithm and backtracking binary-tree searching algorithm in the situations that the tags are grouped and numbered continuously in the same group.
