Research on reduction of aircraft noise, supported by the European Union

Abstract

During the last few years the European Commission has boosted research on reduction of noise from aircraft as a necessary reaction to the forecast increase in air travel and the corresponding noise problems around many European airports. This article provides a broad outline of the ongoing activities and their objectives.
