Abstract

CNC system to continuous small line segment directly linear interpolation processing, due to the velocity of discontinuous, the processing will show low efficiency and low surface quality. Usually, the small line segments are fitted into a curve, and curve interpolation is used to improve the processing quality. A real-time processing method of Hermite spline is proposed by studying the fitting and interpolation methods. Based on the global geometric information, the algorithm prejudges the trajectory of the CL-points of the part to be machined, and extracts the small line segments that meet the conditions for Hermite spline real-time fitting, so as to optimize the machining trajectory of the small line segments. And under the limited conditions such as tolerance, the Hermite spline is interpolated, so as to realize CNC milling of continuous small line segments of any contour. Finally, the algorithm is applied to the CNC system, and the machining experiment is carried out. The results show that the algorithm can optimize the machining trajectory, which is beneficial to improve the machining quality and machining stability.
