Abstract

The hydroelectric unit that operates in the reverse power state is connected to the distribution network, which will cause the overlimite voltage of key nodes in the power grid. In this paper, the influence mechanism of reactive power balance on the voltage of the distribution network is firstly analyzed, and then analyses the external output characteristics of the small hydropower unit. The reactive power balance point of the power grid is analyzed, and the principle of the voltage increase of the distribution network nodes caused by the access of small hydropower is analyzed. In view of the problem of the voltage over the limit of the distribution network caused by the access of hydropower, this paper adopts the static var generator (SVG) to carry out Reactive power compensation, taking the two indicators of distribution network loss and voltage stability as the objective function to optimize the reactive power of an IEEE196 node distribution network with small hydropower, and analyze the optimization results, indicating that the installation of static var generators is an effective way to solve the problem of voltage exceeding the limit caused by the connection of small hydropower nodes in the distribution network.
