Abstract

Software localization translation is an important factor in software globalization. However, due to the complexity of the product, the diversity of users, and different social and cultural backgrounds, software localization faces many challenges in the overseas delivery process. Based on the delivery characteristics of the domestic telecom operators’ operation supporting system, combining the translation and technology communication approaches, this paper analyzes the principles of software localization translation and puts forward the relative strategies. On the basis of textual translation strategies, wide knowledge and good application abilities of computer-assisted translation technologies, structured writing technologies, and user interface redesign are the key points to guarantee the textual accuracy and clarity, and task orientation, usability, and uniformity of deliverables so as to improve the product utility and enhance user experience as well as satisfaction.
