Abstract

The study was carried out with 120 Lac Thuy chickens housed in form of semi-grazing in the An Khe, Gia Lai, to determine their possible growth and meat quality from 0 - 16 weeks of age. The results show that the survival rate of Lac Thuy chickens has been gradually decreasing since hatching to 5 weeks old, and this rate has stabilized to 16 weeks old at 93,33%. The cumulative growth at 16 weeks old in experiment 1 was 1.383 - 1.389 kg/individual, in experiment 2 was 1.538 - 1.546 kg/individual. The absolute growth in experiment 1 was 12.06 - 12.12 g/individual/day, in experiment 2 was 13.45 - 13.52 g/individual/day. The carcass ratio was 64.73 - 67.36%, the breast meat ratio was 15.92 - 19.33%, and the thigh meat ratio was 23.68 - 25.49%. The dehydration rate after processing at 24h is 17.35 - 21.25%, at 48h is 18.39 - 26.45%.
