Abstract

The modulation phase (MP), which is one of the most important parameter in interferometric fiber optic gyroscope (IFOG), is affected by the space radiation. It is significant for us to choose the best parameter of the MP to improve the performance of IFOG under the space radiation. Firstly, we establish a mathematical model of the random walk coefficient (RWC) with the MP under the space radiation in IFOG based on the power law model of fiber ring. Afterwards, it indicates that the best MP parameter exists under the different radiation dose and this parameter decreases with the rising of the radiation dose, according to the simulation. Then choose an optimal MP of every radiation dose’s best MP with different weight. Finally, RWC with the radiation dose is simulated under the best MP parameter in the space radiation, whose result indicates that the RWC is improved.
