Abstract

After the grinding process of the piston pin, the outer diameter of the piston pin will be detected by full inspection. The detection requirements shall not produce scratches, the detection rate shall reach 1s / piece, and the limit error of the detection equipment shall reach 0.7μm. Therefore, non-contact high-precision detection must be used to meet the requirements. In order to improve the detection accuracy, carbon fiber tube is used as the reference plane to protect the surface of piston pin from scratches and improve the rigidity of measurements. The measurement error is analyzed, and the overall error is divided into three parts: the error caused by temperature change 𝑒<i><sub>t</sub></i> , the error caused by the non-perpendicularity of the light and the piston pin 𝑒<i><sub>v</sub></i> and the error caused by CCD itself 𝑒<i><sub>d</sub></i>. After adjusting the parallelism between the carbon fiber tube and the piston pin, 𝑒<i><sub>v</sub></i> is reduced to 0.12μm,a calibration measurement method is developed to reduce 𝑒<i><sub>d</sub></i> to 0.15μm. A temperature compensation algorithm is developed to reduce 𝑒<i><sub>t</sub></i> to 0.2μm. Thus the overall detection accuracy is limited to 0.5μm. Finally the high-precision on-line detection of piston pin outer diameter is realized, and the effect is good.
