Abstract

In this paper, a new type of non-pneumatic tire is designed. The pneumatic parts of standard pneumatic tire are replaced by gradient anti-tetrachiral structure. Firstly, the in-plane mechanical properties and elastic limit load of anti-tetrachiral structures with different gradient factors are studied by experiment, finite element method and theory. Based on this, the structural design of non-pneumatic tire is carried out, and its mechanical properties under compression load are studied by finite element method. Results show that the gradient anti-tetrachiral structure and the non-pneumatic tire based on this structure have certain similarities in the deformation mode. The basic research of gradient anti-tetrachiral structure is of guiding significance to the design of non-pneumatic tire. It also shows that the non-pneumatic tire with the gradient anti-tetrachiral structure has good load-carrying capacity, and has a wide engineering application potential.
