Abstract

Double-layer composite absorbing coatings were made by using layered inorganics as an absorbing reagent combined with graphite.Layered inorganics belongs to a dielectric loss absorbing material since its complex permeability's real part μ′≈1 and imaginary part μ″≈0,and it absorbs and attenuates electromagnetic wave via dielectric loss. The influences of dosages of layered inorganics in the bottom layer and graphite in the surface layer on microwave absorbing properties were studied. The results show that the absorption peak values shift to lower frequency by increasing dosages of absorbing reagents, otherwise shift to higher frequency. When the double-layer composite absorbing coating is prepared with amount of 11.0 wt.% layered inorganics and 16.6 wt.% graphite, the maximum reflection loss reaches-22.27dB and the absorption bandwidths are 5.36GHz(under-5dB) and 3.12GHz(under-10dB).
