Abstract

A 4-pole, 24-slot surface mounted high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor proposed in this paper is used to analysis the method for reducing eddy current loss of magnets. The finite element model is built in paper. The following factors influenced on the magnet eddy current loss are analyzed: magnet thickness along shaft direction, PWM current frequency, different magnetization modes, and the number of segments in circumference of one pole. Through finite element analysis of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor within different influencing factors above, the change rule of eddy current loss is listed, and the method for reducing eddy current loss is obtained. The research in this paper could provide a certain reference value for the high-speed motor design.
