Abstract
Load rejection characteristic is an important standard to measure the security and stability of a nuclear power plant. And the load rejection test is an important item before putting the PWR nuclear power plant into operation. Practically, the nuclear power plants operate at different power levels and show different load rejection characteristics. A model of PWR nuclear power plant is established based on the actual operation characteristics and the load rejection test of nuclear power plants at different power levels is simulated. Furthermore, a bypass system and a fast valve closing system are added to study the load rejection protection of PWR nuclear power plant. The simulation indicate that the higher the power level, the greater the disturbance caused by load rejection. And the nuclear power plant operating with full load is necessary to be equipped with the protection system for load rejection. In addition, the results show that the bypass system exerts a protective effect on the primary circuit of the nuclear power plant more significantly, while the fast valve closing system is more remarkable in the protection of the secondary circuit of the nuclear power plant.
